Mike Rubin has been involved in the development of urban, entertainment, retail, mixed‐use and leisure destination development for over 25 years. During that time he has worked as an architect, development consultant, entrepreneur and developer. Mike co‐founded MRA International with the goal to deploy entertainment, spots, and cultural components with retail, dining, and mixed‐use development to create a new hybrid to revitalize America’s cities and towns. In 1991 Mike introduced the concept of the Urban Entertainment Center and with his colleagues at MRA, was involved in an array of UEC projects that redefined tenanting strategies while reestablishing place‐bases design.

Mike has worked closely with the Urban Land Institute, the nation’s premier development association, since 1990 to diffuse information and create forums for understanding destination development. Mike coauthored two ULI books on developing Urban Entertainment Centers (1998) and Retail Entertainment Destinations (2001).

Urban Revitalization is foundation for the future American landscape. Bringing back the "traditional town" sense of place and community, cultural and recreational amenities gives the opportunity to breathe new life into cities, and results in a sustainable creative village.
